How we learn

Learning at Sadhana Vidyalaya is active, joyful, and rooted in the child’s natural curiosity. Our curriculum blends strong academics with yoga, arts, sports, values, and practical life skills. The aim is to help every child understand, explore, reflect, and grow at their own pace.

We follow the Karnataka State Board syllabus, supported by holistic practices that shape a balanced mind and body.

Academic curriculum

Our academic program builds clarity in concepts while encouraging a love for learning. Classes are conducted in simple, calm classrooms where teachers guide students through interactive methods.

Subjects offered

  • Kannada

  • English

  • Mathematics

  • General Science

  • Social Science

  • Computer Basics (with plans to expand into a full computer lab)

  • Environmental Studies for primary classes

Teachers focus on strengthening the fundamentals so that children develop confidence and independent thinking. Instead of memorisation, we promote understanding through examples, discussions, group work, and hands-on activities.

Holistic education

Holistic learning is the heart of Sadhana Vidyalaya. Every child participates in yoga, meditation, arts, and cultural learning as part of the school day. These practices help students stay calm, centred, and expressive.

Yoga

Daily yoga sessions build strength, flexibility, balance, and breath awareness. Children learn simple routines suitable for their age, along with relaxation practices that support focus and emotional stability.

Meditation

Short guided meditations help reduce stress and improve concentration. Students learn to observe their thoughts, calm their mind, and develop inner clarity.

Arts & creativity

Creativity is encouraged through drawing, painting, craft, storytelling, and traditional dance. Children enjoy expressing themselves through colours, rhythm, movement, and imagination. Art activities are woven naturally into the academic timetable.

Music

Singing and rhythmic exercises help children build confidence and joy in group participation. Some students also learn basic instrumental music when trainers are available.

Culture & values

Stories, festivals, folk traditions, and simple practices of gratitude shape the child’s emotional and social development. Values such as kindness, discipline, respect, and responsibility are taught through everyday interactions, not lectures.

Life skills

We prepare children for life beyond the classroom. Life-skills education includes:

  • Communication and listening

  • Teamwork and cooperation

  • Problem-solving

  • Basic financial awareness

  • Cleanliness and personal organisation

  • Taking care of shared spaces

  • Leadership roles in class and school events

Students also join regular nature-care activities, including planting trees, maintaining the garden, and learning sustainable habits.

Co-curricular activities

Sports and physical activity

Play is essential for children. Our spacious playground supports games such as:

  • Football

These clubs cultivate curiosity and leadership.

Support systems

Mid-day meal

The school provides a nutritious meal to help children stay energetic and attentive through the day. This support is essential for many families and plays a key role in overall child wellbeing.

Transport

Affordable transportation is provided for children from surrounding villages. This helps ensure regular attendance and safety.

Emotional support

Teachers act as mentors, offering guidance and gentle correction. The atmosphere is friendly, caring, and respectful.

A learning journey for every child

Our programs are designed to meet the needs of rural children while giving them exposure to skills that prepare them for the future. Every child receives personalised attention, ensuring that they learn with confidence, joy, and steady progress.

The goal is simple: to help every student discover their strengths and become a balanced human being.
